Customer Success Manager – Economic Development Internet Software Company

SizeUp is seeking a Customer Success Manager to onboard new customers and support existing clients. The position will work directly with company leadership, sales, and engineering teams. As a success-focused organization, we are looking for proactive customer interactions aligned with achieving customer goals by helping them drive value from our products.

We are looking for a candidate with some experience (and who enjoys) working in the chamber of commerce, economic development, marketing, and/or small business assistance professions, but would prefer to work for an innovative Internet technology company like SizeUp. SizeUp works with many SBDC professionals as clients and would like to have one join our team. The Customer Success Manager will be able to continue to be involved and connected to the SBDC/SCORE profession, but will be able to work in the growing and exciting industry of Internet technology.   

Remote Work and 4-day Workweek Option

This position will be remote, and the Customer Success Manager can work from anywhere. Preference will be given to applicants that can work during traditional Central Time Zone hours, although living in the Central time zone is not required. This position will have a 4-day workweek option, if preferred by the candidate.

Job Description

As a Customer Success Manager, you will be working closely with our clients to proactively identify and help them achieve their goals for our SizeUp SaaS (software-as-a-service) offering. Customer Success has full ownership of the implementation process and continued customer service, including quarterly client check-ins.

SizeUp offers a turnkey software solution that is remarkably simple to implement for clients from a technical perspective. As such, the implementation process focuses mainly on assisting our customers with training for their staff and partners. It also includes assisting clients with marketing SizeUp to the local business media in their market and local businesses in our clients’ communities. This is primarily accomplished through public webinars and/or web trainings. As such, you should be comfortable speaking both virtually and in-person to larger audiences.


Ideal candidate requirements:


Four-year college degree or equivalent job experience


Highly organized and task-oriented


Able to manage multiple client projects at the same time




Excellent people skills


Good at interacting and communicating with people through web meetings, phone, and email


Excellent computer and remote working skills are required as the SizeUp team all work remotely.


Experience with software including email, word processing, PowerPoint, Customer Relationship Management (preferred), and an ability to learn new software.

Preferred professional experience from any of the following (not a requirement):

Chamber of Commerce / Small business assistance/ Membership-based organization


Economic Development / City Planning / Government




Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English


It is preferred that you can read, write, and speak Spanish.
