Des Moines is one of the best places to celebrate Valentine’s Day, according to the data experts at SizeUp. As reported in Business Record and the Des Moines Register, Des Moines was named the top city for florists, based on revenue per capita for cities nationwide. The Society of American Florists estimates there are about 16,000 florists in the United States. Tom Boesen, whose family operates Boesen the Florist in Des Moines, said his fourth-generation company is among the 20 or so floral shops in the nation that lists revenues of $4 million or more a year.
